San Jacinto Day is the day set aside each year to celebrate the Battle of San Jacinto that took place on April 21, 1836.  It was the final, and deciding, battle of the Texas Revolution where Texas won its independence from Mexico.

Please join us at the March 21st Root Seekers Genealogical Society meeting where Charles Luna, a founding member of the James George Chapter of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, will fill us in on the “little-known facts of the Battle of San Jacinto.”  The meeting will begin at 7 pm at the Tri-County Library in Mabank, Texas.
